I am losing track of all the promises OPEC has made to cut supply in order to boost prices. Nothing seems to be working. And in light of the damage caused by fuel prices last year, countries in the West would do well to develop their own sources of energy instead of relying so heavily on the Middle Eastern countries for fuel. That, of course, would leave OPEC members in an even more difficult position. This seems like a lose/lose situation all round.
