Oil & Gas sector see benefits from outsourced training management solutions

The Total Training Solution is split into four key areas, namely the provision of: management services, training services, HSE consultancy and manpower, and HSE equipment maintenance and certification.

QISC offer a range of Management Services from booking systems to training matrix and plan management, training event management, and from basic site inductions to management of major emergencies. In conjunction, they provide administrative services, procurement, delegate record management and certification of competence.

Major Emergency Management Department has recently invested in a full scale simulator, adding to the existing purpose built emergency management suite. The Major Emergency Management training centre replicates real life emergency situations under controlled conditions and allows managers and their teams to understand effectiveness of individual and team performance, processes and procedures while being assessed and trained by renowned experts in emergency response management.

Health & Safety Department offers a wide range of courses from basic understanding of HSE to company inductions, to supervisory and further to senior management level. Basic & Advanced First Aid, H2S IOSH Working Safely and NEBOSH are a few of the courses offered.

Vocational Training Department worked closely with the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) to develop a series of one day trade tests for: Riggers; Pipe Fitters and Welders while International Scaffolding courses have been developed in conjunction with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). Such new and exciting initiatives have been designed to ensure that the standard of employee's trade skill levels meet customer standards. Additional technical training courses are also offered to achieve help employees meet standards where a gap is identified.

Driver Training Department has a team of highly trained and qualified Driver Trainers, providing internationally accredited theory and practical training across most categories of vehicles. Driving is the most dangerous activity most of our employees face, therefore Defensive Driving is essential to all organizations in order to maintain maximum safety and to protect the company fleet. With the current expansion and ongoing development of the Defensive Driving Department we have now integrated VIP and Emergency response training into our programme. All our courses are certified and we have recently been awarded IVV accreditation, International recognition in Driver Education.

Fire & Rescue Department has seen major investment on the fire ground with a new offshore Accommodation Module training a range of Fire & Rescue scenarios. Maintaining their status as the premier OPITO training provider, QISC also offer: Confined Space Rescue, Team Building & Motivation, Safe Working at Heights, and CAA Radio Operators.

Fire Safety Department is dedicated to fire safety and preventative measures during the concept and design stage of construction. Working closely with local and international architects, the highly qualified and experienced personnel offer assistance with the design and implementation of active and passive fire safety issues. The Fire Safety Department has experience in carrying out third party Fire Safety Risk Assessments to ensure existing buildings adequately meet the local and internationally recognised fire safety standards, without jeopardizing the true characteristic of the building.

Survival training is essential for all individuals who wish to travel and work offshore. QISC have a state of the art facility with HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer), TEMPSC (Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft) and all the necessary equipment to provide as much realism as is possible. The training is conducted in a strictly controlled environment by qualified instructors where delegates can experience emergency situations and learn to react to ensure personnel safety.
