New technologies for the marine seismic industry

Hydroscience Technologies, Inc. | www.seamux.com

Hydroscience Technologies, Inc. is excited to announce that it is now part of the Next Generation MENA Oil and Gas publication family. As a leader in new technologies for the marine seismic industry, Hydroscience Technologies, Inc. began back in 1945 as the Seismic Engineering Company, which was the first manufacturer of seismic towed arrays in the world and helped to open the offshore oil and gas market. In 1996, we became known as Hydroscience Technologies, Inc. and since then have continued to be an industry leader in marine seismic technology.

Hydroscience Technologies, Inc. (“HTI”) has a full line of marine seismic towed arrays and along with its strategic partner alliances, can fulfill all of the marine seismic vessel requirements in today’s fast-paced marketplace. From the smallest near shore high-resolution operations to a record setting twenty towed streamer operational requirement, HTI has the latest in digital seismic acquisition systems, towed arrays and OBC systems for all your exploration requirements. No system is too small or too big for HTI and its expertise.

In this ever-changing world market, along with emerging countries, oil and gas requirements are escalating. HTI is ready with the latest in marine seismic equipment to help meet the growing demands in offshore exploration. This is an era of multi million dollar seismic vessels outfitted with an array of highly technical equipment to shorten exploration time and increase data accuracy. HTI is a leader in the electronics manufacturing of these sophisticated seismic acquisition systems and towed arrays.

Technology is key to our company name. In the last few years, we have seen advancements in technology literally overnight. In the marine acquisition system design, HTI has developed a unique telemetry platform. HTI has designed a ruggedized commercial PC based workstation. Added to that, the versatility of the Windows based software; HTI has created a stable acquisition system built for today’s sophisticated end user. HTI’s primary goal is to provide a state of the art system to the marine seismic industry. We do this by staying abreast with the latest in hardware, software and technology advancements. What this means to the seismic contractor is performance, reliability and of course profitability.

The Hydroscience Technologies product line for 2009 features the following:

NTRS2 New Technology Recording System. The NTRS2 is a second-generation recording system with a ruggedized PC based workstation. The many key redundant components and Windows software gives the operator a stable and reliable platform. The NTRS2 system can manage 3,000 channels per streamer at 4ms and 1 to 20 streamers per NTRS2 recording system. The NTRS2 records continuously with no inter record gaps. The system features fast response, ease of operation and training. One of the key features is our “one button QC”. Gone are the complex series of commands for system testing. The “one button QC” is a system-analyzing tool that engages diagnostics with the click of the mouse. Dual large screen monitors allow operation without end user fatigue. Color coded functions are displayed in normal operation, caution or alerts on the monitors. The NTRS2 will interface with various Navigation systems, Gun Array systems, Bird controllers and other marine seismic operational kit requirements. The NTRS2 interfaces with a variety of printers and plotters that are available for marine seismic operations.

SeaMUX and SeaTRAK In-Water Components. Our in-water electronics are best known as the SeaMUX and SeaTRAK modules. Theses components are made from high-grade titanium and are manufactured under ISO equivalent standards. The SeaMUX2 and SeaTRAK2 modules are the latest generation in our product line. All of the HTI modules incorporate the latest in electronics components. HTI continues to provide extremes in module performance and reliability. The new SeaMUX2 and SeaTRAK2 provide better hydrodynamics as well.

SeaMUX2 and SeaTRAK2 Active Section Streamers.
With HTI design, technology and our many years of manufacturing and cable experience, the SeaMUX2 and SeaTRAK2 in-water active sections are state of the art. HTI has developed rugged and reliable streamers that meet today’s parameters for performance and environmental requirements. The SeaMUX2 and SeaTRAK2 active streamer sections can be manufactured with a wide variety of industry accepted hydrophones. HTI’s system allows our customers a choice of these hydrophones. (HTI must use depth-limited hydrophones for export when required by regulations.) Along with our HTI standard SeaMUX and SeaTRAK active sections, HTI can provide custom cable designs. HTI offers a variety of fillers for streamer flotation. These are standard fluid “Isopars”, HTI environmentally friendly fluid and the HTI solid gel. All sections can be ballasted for specific areas of operation given temperature and salinity status. Specialized sections such as tension sections, head and tail stretch sections are constructed using our reliable design and technology. In addition to the streamer facility in Mineral Wells, Texas, a new state-of-the-art purpose built streamer facility located in Guadalajara, Mexico opened in 2007.

In addition to our extensive product line, Hydroscience Technologies, Inc offers outstanding field service and training for our product line. Every client that purchases a system from HTI is offered training at our factory, training during installation and on-board sea trial training. This support assures the client that his on-board personnel will be very familiar with the system operation and troubleshooting. With both Quality Control checks built into on-board displays and color keyed troubleshooting, the client can isolate possible equipment anomalies quickly. System updates and changes may be downloaded from the internet while on the vessel. Field service personnel are available for worldwide travel and client support at a moment’s notice. In addition, HTI is dedicated to being able to provide service to our clients 24/7.

Hydroscience Technologies, Inc, will provide you with a system that will be cost effective and proven solid-state performance that will exceed your expectations. We invite you to visit us on the web at www.seamux.com and meet the Hydroscience team.
